Communication around campus safety

Posted about 2 years ago  in La Salle NewsParent and Family News.

To the University community:

This evening, University leadership learned of a post made on a Facebook group page that many La Salle families and parents use to communicate with one another.

The post alluded to an incident that was alleged to have occurred on campus this week. The report is entirely unfounded. No incidents meeting this description occurred on or near campus this week. This has been confirmed through Philadelphia Police, with whom University leadership and La Salle Public Safety maintain regular communication.

In an effort to dispel this inaccurate report, the University has shared this information with the aforementioned Facebook group by commenting under the original post.

As you may know, the University uses an emergency alert system to communicate with members of our campus community in a timely manner when incidents occur on campus or within the Clery Act-reportable areas that surround campus. This includes multiple means of communication, like text messages and posts in the myLaSalle Portal.

Please visit lasalle.edu/public-safety to learn more about the University’s emergency protocol.

Sincerely,

Amanda M. Guthorn, D.A.
Assistant Vice President of Public Safety
La Salle University
